Our Story
Mariah and Shelby are the sister duo behind Miss Greater Baton Rouge. Mariah was introduced to the world of pageantry through her older sister, Shelby who encouraged her to step out of her comfort zone. Her journey reached its peak when she was crowned Miss Louisiana USA 2020 with Shelby proudly beside her. They were able to witness first hand the transformative power of pageantry and the profound impact it could have on a person’s life.
With their shared passion for empowering young women, they decided to create this pageant to provide others in their community with the same opportunities for self-discovery and personal growth that changed Mariah’s life. Their vision is to see pageants become a more accessible vehicle for women to embrace their authenticity, find confidence within themselves, and acquire lifelong skills for success.
